Hey Jay6400,
There are a lot of us on the internet that aren't ".edu boys" as you so
call it. Many of us have accounts with PPP connections that cost us
less than what you would spend for 10 hours on the internet on AOL.
Think about it wonderous one, the ".edu boys" are getting an eductaion,
while you're sitting at you're lonely comptuer paying $3.50 per hour
for _less_ than what the ".edu boys" are getting.
Think about it Mr. AOL, while you're paying $3.50 and hour, That's about
what it costs me for 2 days with unlimited time on the net.
I have more chat rooms than AOL has to offer (IRC in case you're too broke
to buy the internet for dummies book). I have more files to download,
than all of AOL's computers put together. I can search for any kind of
file I would want to download, and I get my files at 28.8 baud. Not the
9600 connect, and 4800 download that AOL slows your system down to just
to get a few extra bucks while you download some lamer's GIF.
There are more newsgroups than you could read in a lifetime (not just
_select_ ones that AOL says you can have). We also have a GUI user
interface for internet so we can see pretty pictures too. It's called
Mosaic.
Maybe if you got off of AOL and saved your pennies for a few months, you
too can get a real internet account.
