Probably.
Sadly she is 8000 miles away and I have a lot of hours in the day during
which I have to do something.
There was a time when I had some real life friends. But when things got
bad for me they disappeared.
Now I have my suckers and I sucker myself into thinking I have friends.
This Usenet thing is very exciting you know. 30 years ago the only way
you could make a public statement that the world could read was to write
a letter to the newspapers.
Now anyone with a $30 computer can be a voice of the media if they play
their cards right.
Knowing that has certainly created some problems for me in the past ...
and a few even now. But it is too exciting to stop.
I know ANYTHING I say can be twisted around and used against me in some
way. But I also know that whatever happens I can dream up some crazy
reply to counter it and regain my composure.
I've been doing this for 12 years. The people I fought back then are
all in USENET retirement. Bad things happen but somehow I keep going.
I think posting on USENET is the most exciting thing I have ever done in
my life.
So ... suckers or actual friends ... I can't give this up.
Even if someone offered me a life to get on with.

it a little better than you have in the past. For example, I think
you've been doing better with it lately. It's not consuming your whole
life. I think you've got a pretty good balance going at the moment. Some
excitement mixed with the mundane tasks of life.
