it should look like

...write down the cert# we will use that later
......NOTE: "INF-OF" means the unnamed infant of
XX YOU ARE IN THE BOOK

X now we switch to a computer version of the index
...this has adopted names
get everybody born that day in that county
...your child is one of these
SELECT the birth index (computer version)

XX LOOKUP EACH IN THE OLD BIRTH BOOKS

X we are looking for one that is NOT there
...because this person is in the old book under another name
......your name, i.e. the INFANT-OF you
SELECT the birth index (old books)

XX NOT IN THE OLD BOOKS

...let's locate the child and confirm it
SELECT the (people search)
"MAIN search"
FORM SETTINGS
Click on Advanced Search at the bottom
...put in child's last name, first and date of birth
...leave off the middle name for now
...Check "Exact Date of Birth"
...under "Degree of Detail" select
......"and neighborhood demographics"
...under "Starting Region" select
......"U.S. South Central"
...make sure the "Zip Code" is blank
