Visit the Push Back the Poison Campaign, which is working to ban the deadly
pesticide and potent ozone depletor methyl bromide. The web site contains a
new report called "Lethal Injection: The Poisonous Politics of Methyl
Bromide," an expose of TriCal, Inc., California's largest applicator of
methyl bromide and an influential player in keeping this pesticide on the
market. The site also contains links to several resources on the health and
environmental impacts of methyl bromide as well as alternatives.
Visit the Stop the Greening of Hate Campaign, which brings immigrant rights
advocates and environmentalists together to protect the environment,
health, and human rights of our communities. The campaign is actively
working to stop the scapegoating of immigrants for environmental problems,
a phenomenon known as the "greening of hate." On the site, you will find a
series of "myths and factsheets" in English, Spanish, Chinese and
Vietnamese. You'll also find a position statement on immigration and the
environment for endorsement, and other resources on immigration, population
and the environment.
In addition, the site contains PEG's newsletter, various resources, a "what
you can do" page, and information on WMX, the world's largest waste hauler.
The Political Ecology Group (PEG) is a multi-racial, volunteer-based
organization working for environmental justice in the San Francisco Bay
Area. PEG brings people together for collective action, participatory
education, leadership development and for carrying out campaigns with
national and international impact. PEG's campaigns build alliances to
confront environmental destruction, racism, sexism, homophobia and
