Fischer asks a dumb question about something about which Galen has fallen silent
pnyikos
about an e-mail about which I have had the last word on the two
previous threads devoted to that subject. Galen, who set up these
threads, has been silent on them for over a week now, as has his chief
hit man "Spartakus", letting me have the last word on both.
If Galen is too bashful to resume our discussion of this e-mail there,
perhaps he would like to come to a thread that I set up concerning the
topic. So here we go.

I received it in the usual way, twit.
You receive e-mail, too, don't you? You know how that happens, don't
you?
What's more, it came very soon after I sent an entry to a dumb-off
contest to the same address that I received that e-mail from. Galen
said that he had e-mail forwarded from that address to another that he
told us about.
I sometimes wonder whether he was trying to play the mouse deer trick
on me with that statement.
Anyway, he's never given a satisfactory explanation of why those
headers couldn't have come from him hitting a reply button and sending
the reply back over the same path whence it had come to him. In fact,
for a long time he kept avoiding any kind of straight answer to this
question.
More recently, he posted a weird response to it, again avoiding a
straight answer, and I showed how weird this response was in:

You think your and Fischer's broken-record-routine TbBA on the most
recent thread does anything to advance the discussion? The last
substantive comments on the credibility of Galen were made by
Spartakus and by me in respose to Spartakus. Y'all are just licking
his boots by simply assuming that Galen's claims about an event that
happened over 15 years ago are VASTLY more reliable than his claims
about something that happened only about two years earlier.
Maybe Spartakus realizes his mistake and so is content to let you and
your fellow bootlickers set up smokescreens around him.

I've used Unix until recently, for Bitnet first and then for elm and
(occasionally) Pine. I did e-mail responses on elm gazillions of
times, and a great many times on Bitnet.
Now I use Linux, a kissing cousin to Unix, at the office.

I would have had to go to considerable effort to do anything else but
use the appropriate "reply" command to answer e-mail for any of the
above three methods, especially back in 1992-94 before I got a
workstation instead of a terminal. The terminal did not have a "cut
and paste" procedure for e-mail addresses, so I would have had to go
through a lot of contortions. IIRC with Bitnet the only alternative
was to type out the whole address by hand.
So, I conclude you are joking again.

I'm sure Keegan will be grateful to you for saving him whatever
anxiety comes from being the one to tell such a brazen, bare-faced lie

You may heartily WISH that this country were based on "guilty until
proven innocent" [in this case: guilty of having posted an e-mail with
bogus headers, or forgery for short] with you as the D.A., but it is

I received it. What part of that do you not understand?
And I explained it: it was an e-mail whose whole text was "Got it --
thanks." in acknowledgment of an entry I had e-mailed to that
g...@galen.med.virginia.edu for a dumb-off context.

I keep asking questions of Fischer and Keegan and Spartakus to which a
simple Yes (or No, as the case may be) answer would remove all
negative suspicion of them, and Spartakus pretends to think it is
infinitely worse than mere "badgering"--he even pretended on the
"Pathological Liar..." thread to think it is the equivalent of KGB
(and Cheka, OGPU, NKVD, etc.) interrogations designed to force people
to confess to things they never did.
But of course, since Fischer is one of the prime beneficiaries of this

Instead of realizing that I had done to him what you and Fischer have
