That's why it's so safe to live in Afghanistan.

>"If everyone carrys a gun, then nobody will use a gun."
Straw man argument. No one ever said that.
The NRA people rightly point out that in states where carry is
allowed, crime has often dropped. In one county in Florida that made
it mandatory to have a firearms in the home unless it was against
religious or personal beliefs, murders were ZERO that year and
robberies fell to near-nothing.
But don't let the facts get in your way. You don't like people
owning guns because you wouldn't trust yourself with one, isn't that
true? Fine. Just don't expect others to give them up because you're
not to be trusted.
Tombstone and Dogde were places where to people in charge tried to DISARM
those they didn't approve of..
You would be more creduble if you had a glimmer about what you were talking
about .
The idiot using the nym " "Dr. Vincent Quin, Ph.D."
Were that true
But the case is that most people in Afghanistan are disarmed and that allows
the Taliban to terrorize them.
Which was why the so-called "Wild West" was far safer than the East Coast
during the same period of time.
Actually, that town is in Georgia, unless you're referencing a different
community.

Agreed.
The Swiss require most citizens to own guns for instance. Israel is
kind of open to private carrying of arms too.
You are unable to "logically extend" even a finger

Actually MULTIPLE lies
But who am I to quibble...

And let's not forget the State of Vermont, which has ALWAYS protected the
right of the people to carry openly or concealed just about anywhere in the

And lo and behold, Vermont has one of the lowest crime rates in all the
States of the Union
It should be "People with GUNS Kill people"
That statement directly implies that ALL people with guns kill people.
Horribly inaccurate statement.

Actually, no, not even then...;p)
Vermont's low crime rate has nothing to do with people being allowed to
carry guns, the fact is 99% of them don't carry.
Vermont is the most rural state and it has almost no urban enviroment that
has more to do with things there.

Well there's your problem, you are ignorant enough to imagine that Dodge And

Your ignorance and inability to make rational comparisons must be the
result of a "liberal edunucation" or something like that.
Probably a NERF gun

I didn't make a claim that they did
I just metionned that Vermont has NO RESTRICTIONS
Idiots like ray can't seem to think their way from A to B without falling

Don't thnk so
Not to mention the silliness of the notion that just because there is a law

b) it also proves to be some magical talisman against criminals like the

It's always funny to read the hidden hoplophobe come to the surface

I would have said all those soldiers coming home with 7.62 mm holes in
them is proof that enough people there have them to make being a soldier
from a foreign country reasonably hazardous.
In a society where blood feuds are common and can last up to 300 years a
prudent man carries a gun.
I thought, and I have a first edition of the book where the term occurs
for the first time, that this was an irrational fear of guns.
As I keep guns in the house and both my wife and I shoot this is a touch
unlikely.
So now you're claiming that it's the law-abiding citizens who are shooting
our soldiers and NOT the Taliban ?
Or are you trying to conflate the two groups to make your (dishonest) point
?
I can't tell the difference between them, and neither can anyone else
so far...
The Taliban are those who have been paid, otherwise its just a citizen
Now there's a convenient way to cover your bullshit
Childish post. But that's what we expect from you idiots.

I read about one in the early '90s that was in Florida, but
thanks for letting me know there was another one with positive results
too. Of course, to the gun grabbers, no result is positive if it isn't
one they're seeking.
There's nothing more morbid than people who get up and do a
tap dance whenever there's a mass shooting, and start making plans of
how they'll spin to the media that it's all the fault of what they

This was back in the early '90s. I can find out if it's
important to you. All I remember is that after that law went through,
they had no murders the next year, and a drastically reduced number of

Gun control advocates don't care about that. They want what
makes them feel unsafe banned, and it isn't because they care about
other people.

I'm not "screwing over" anyone.

Gosh, how do all those other civilized societies manage? You know,
having such restrictive gun laws and low murder rates? They should
follow the USA lead. We kill in murder rates among 1st world
countries.
http://www.benbest.com/lifeext/murder.html#world
Just like our public health policies, our gun policies resemble those
of a third world country much more than a first world country.
There seems to be a bit of confusion here; that happens sometimes in
UseNet. :-)
Let's see: Mr. SaPelsMa responded to Mr. William Black, who had
written:
"What about Afghanistan? Everyone has a gun there and it isn't what
you'd call peaceful..."
Seems like a reasonable request to me: Mr. Black claimed that
"everyone has a gun in Afghanistan"; Mr. SaPelsMa asked for proof.
On the other hand, Mr. SaPelsMa never wrote that "everybody carries
guns in Vermont". Instead, he wrote "And let's not forget the State
of Vermont, which has ALWAYS protected the right of the people to
carry openly or concealed just about anywhere in the State."
This statement clearly does not state that "everybody carries guns in
Vermont".
Does this clear up any misunderstanding?

Bullshit. Murder in America is very largely young slum male blacks
killing each other - as shown by federal (in)Justice Dept. statistics
showing that black Americans commit murder at EIGHT times the rate
white Americans do and die of murder at FIVE times the rate white
Americans do, while blacks are only 1/8 of America's population.
If you're white, ask yourself if you personally even know anyone who
has been shot outside of overseas military combat. That's the
question the antigun lobby fears most - because it puts risk in
perspective for the 7/8 of Americans who aren't black.

They don't have the inner-city drug wars to the same degree as the US
Just like Prohibition increased the homicide rate with gangs shooting each
other for turf. So do the dealers go around killing each other for "turf".
And let's not forget the breakdown of black and hispanic culture where young
males are willing to kill each other for "face"..
**Then why make it so easy for such people to acquire guns? In any other
civilised society, undesirables cannot easily obtain guns.

Because they don't have the gun mania that makes it so easy to wage
those wars. And you know those drug wars in Mexico? You know where
they get their guns?
I'll give you just one guess.

"Any number under six"
The answer given by Englishman Richard Peeke when asked by the Duke of
Medina Sidonia how many Spanish sword and buckler men he could beat
single handed with a quarterstaff.
Ignorance seems edemic in England
Why do you need to prove it.?
