Hheheh, that's a nice system but I'm afraid that you won't be about to
find too many programs easier than COrel Motion 3d, and unless you're
planning on buying a used piece of software you won't be able to get a
cheap program like that.
You can go down to your local CompUSA store and buy TriSpectives 1.0 for
$40 or $50 dollars. It is mispriced down from $329. It isn't as powerful
as 3D Studio but much much easier. Check out our web for more info:

I don't think you're going to find something that is (a) easy to use and
(b) under $150.
If you want dirt cheap, get point of view raytrace (free) and learn how
to use it. You can create fantastic animations with it. However, it
definitely won't be easy. There's a very steep learning curve with
povray (so steep that many people don't realize how powerful the program
actually is).
You might want to look at Truespace2/SE (the "light" version of
Truespace/2). It's way more limited than povray, but it's easier to
use.
The next step up from that would be Truespace/2 and Ray Dream Studio.
Those will probably cost you over $300 though.

Maybe Caligari trueSpace 2.0 could be suitable for you. It has
good animation tools and a great modeller (I mean it's not the
best thing to do very exact models). The greatest thing about it
is that you see what you do . . .
sth.

Truespace one isn't bad if you take a few hours to read and become
familiar with the interface. I have seen some VERY complex animations
done with it and the program is CHEAP!
Try out the freeware demo first to see if it will meet your needs.
You can get it at caligari's home page www.caligari.com or something like
that. Anyway, it's the first animator that I ever used and I still think
it's okay. Heck, you don't have time to learn that much during your high
school years anyway.
good luck.

I use TrueSpace / SE for a lot of my modeling, and it works great. Just
don't try to render anything you want used for public consumption with it.
That's what POV-Ray is for. :-)
I picked it up at a retail store for $ 99. The animation is -EXTREMELY-
easy to set up and use though, so I'd reccomend it as a good starting
place.

Actually, Hash Animation Master is about $600.
But Hash Animation Pro is about $160 tp $200

I've been using Truespace/SE for about 6 months and have found it to be
a good intro and practice. It can pull in models from a variety of different
programs. In my limited experience it has a lot of the other programs beat
for textures. Also you get a good upgrade price to TS2 when you're ready to go
further.
Things TS/SE can't do:
boolean operations on objects (only with polygons before they are extruded)
colors/textures can't be changed during animation (can fool it with lighting, but its a pain)
can't use AVI's as background or textures
there's a bunch more but those are the one's I wish it would do. TS2 can do those
and a heck of a lot more.
I have managed some interesting effects and some saleable product for the training
market, so TS/SE is not a waste.
The only trouble I've had with it is that it wasn't written for Win '95 so it has
a tendancy to crash if to much else is going on.
Good Luck
-Jim
I'd concur -- it's very easy to pick up TS2 and get modeling right away with
it. I'm not exactly sure how much TS2 SE is, as I haven't used it. I have
used Imagine and 3DSr4 and wouldn't recommend either of them for ease of use.
The Caligari TrueSpace 2 bible is a pretty good book for it. I don't deal much
with animations in TrueSpace (just models for a game).
