BTW, here is a jpg pf the finger key remap I am currently using; it
addresses some of the issues raised by Mike Willner in another post,
although not comma or period. Maybe I should try to incorporate them
somehow.

In this remap, the index finger keys are modified by the blue shift
only. The other finger keys are modified by the red, green, and
orange shifts. The idea is to make it easier to type various keys
that I find I use a lot, e.g. Enter. But it requires using a LOT of
chords.

The z is typed by hitting a and e simultaneously, and the j and q similarly.

I have to send this by email, creating a new thread, because of the attachment.

Carl, I'm in the progress of bying a grip, but I have to map in three
Swedish characters somewhere, åäö, and I thought of just using the
doublebutton trick that you use for z and other keys. My question is,
does this doublebutton work really good, or do you get "misfires"
sometimes? I've experimented with different AHK chord solutions on my
normal keyboard but has so far been unable to tweak them so they work
well.

Sheffer, you do get misfires sometimes, I can't deny it.

I should mention that the normal Autohotkey method for chording often
misfires, because it often thinks you typed keys together, as a chord,
when really you just meant to type them one after another. My script
uses some extra tricks to minimize that. But even my script does have
its share of misfires, at least with a user like me who hasn't
practiced more than 10 hours or so on the Grip.

However - if you make little foam extenders for the keys (search for
"foam" in the group to see my previous post about this), it makes it
MUCH easier to type the keys and then the misfire rate goes WAY down.
Like maybe 1 in 50 for me, and I think it will fall even further with
more practice on my part.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll go ahead and order one of these
then. Using parts of your script plus some additional tweaking should
work out I think.
