I have already responded but I thought I would expand my comments and
explain why I am using my AG for drafting and working with it daily.
I learned how to draft from my father who has been using AutoCAD of some
time. He drafts using almost exclusive buttons for commands. I don't
though. I use many keyboard shortcuts, and type many commands and
parameters into the command line.
He has tried the AG and does not love it, but he just doesn't like
trackballs for drafting in general. I love my AG, but I have more RSI
symptoms than he does. I also need more desk space for drawings than he
does, so not being tied to my desk to work is a huge plus for me.
My recommendation for using the AG for ACAD drawings is this:
If you use lots of keyboard shortcuts, then the alphagrip will help you
once you figure out how you want to draft. (I have changed the way I do
many commands after using the AG)
If you are a heavy mouse user, or do not like trackballs, then the AG
may not be the best for drafting.
Hope this helps,
