It looks like we can use this for announcement type materials and that
it will be good for broadcasting information, but that's it. Not for
discussions.
we still need to contact organizers - only have contact w/ about 400
of them, and many don't check in the main places. This largely has
not been announced. (probably a good thing - it's got some bugs)
suggest people sign up with a gmail account that can be passed
around and not the organizers e-mail so monitoring can be passed off.
otoh: that wouldn't give us their real e-mail address, which is
desirable.
another possibility would be keeping it really low volume and using
the meetup groups post address as the account mail address.
mail does not seem to be enabled or part of the page yet.
RSS feeds - very limited - like bulletin board on MySpace of
Facebook. Widget needs to be programmed to embed on page.
members need to be reminded that this is a completely open forum and
anything posted here can be seen by anyone. though private/public
resources still isn't clear.
"all feeds" tab lists messages and who posted them, but not what
Meetup they came from. messages like: "rally in Elkhorn area on 16th"
don't help much unless you know where - and there is no easy way to
find out.
can you change code on the page to embed a widget or application?
Meetup clearly plans to expand the functionality, but do you know in
what direction - what they plan to add?
thanks,
Nathan
