Greetings!

As you read this email, may we be reminded about God's grace and peace working in our lives. May our thoughts today be filled with thanksgiving, simply because of the Son who washed away our sins and the Spirit who teaches us how to be children of the living God.

We start the new study on Jeremiah this Thursday.

Please read through Jeremiah Chpt 1. For the historical, political background that formed the context of his ministry, please read 2 Kings 22 - 25.

As with all our studies on OT scripture, the task at hand is to
  1. see that the God's revealed character (love, mercy, grace, justice and wrath) is no different in substance from that which was revealed in Christ.
  2. examine how we should live in the light of God's word. (Note: sometimes it is just enough to respond by faith in repentance or thanksgiving.)

DG on FACEBOOK
We are trying Facebook as a means of estimating how many people will be coming for our weekly meetings, as well as to make it easy and far less messy for people to RSVP. As such we have created the Facebook group: All.Things and will schedule events on the page.

We also find that the Facebook page gives us a slightly more private space to share photos/videos that pertain only to our DG. At the same time it also provides an easily accessible forum space for discussion. It will certainly cut down on multiple email threads.

We need your support and feedback to help make the virtual space work towards creating community. If you are not a member of the group, please let us know so that Samuel, Daniel or myself can add you to the group. If you need help and assurance to create a facebook page, please check with Daniel who will be able to advise you on how to keep an invisible profile on facebook.

If you have old photos of any activity involving the DG, create an album and share those dusty/funny memories with us! A large part of identity is shared history.

So let us know if you will be coming for dinner via the facebook page. But feel free also to reply to this thread. We are still in transition and Liz and I will do our best to get an estimation.

Errol
