Hello Green Team,
As described in the attached materials, the SUNY Office of Sustainability is now accepting applications for small grants of up to $7,500 to support sustainability projects, with a particular focus on energy. The involvement of at least one faculty member in the project is required and they are especially looking for projects that involve students.
If you’ve had a cool project to do with your students in mind but haven’t had the resources, this is a great opportunity. I think we ought to have an excellent shot at getting some of this money and would be delighted to work with interested faculty in preparing an application. Please let me know if you are interested!
Applications are being accepted between now and Oct 31.

Good afternoon,
The SUNY Office of Sustainability and The Research Foundation for SUNY are pleased to announce the release of a new funding opportunity entitled “THE SUSTAINABILITY FUND - GRANTS FOR IDEAS THAT MIGHT FURTHER THE POWER OF SUNY”. One of the goals of the SUNY Office of Sustainability is to help our campuses think innovatively and strategically about energy usage in the myriad ways it manifests itself. This funding mechanism is a great opportunity to conduct some preliminary work that could lead to a larger submission to an external funding agency. Pursuant to the attached RFP, proposals should not exceed $7,500 and there is a rolling deadline of 9/19/12-10/31/12. Awards are anticipated to be made by January 15, 2013 and funds must be spent on individual projects by August 15, 2013. Attached you will also find an excel budget form containing built-in formulas to ease budget creation. You will notice in the RFP that there is a 50% match requirement. Should you have any questions, please contact Deborah Howard, Director of Sustainability for SUNY at (518) 320-1489 or via e-mail at Deborah...@suny.edu.
Best,
Garry
