"Thank you for contacting me, I have been very busy so I am sorry that I haven't wrote back. But I am a citizen in Massachusetts who has heard about a militia starting. There are other people who have been trying to get it going but we have no one with any military experience. I was wondering if you could help us out in any way possible. We would of started our militia a long time ago. But again we have no one to train and or lead us. I know you were the head leader of the Michigan Militia and I am also curiouse if you have any contacts in my state or in New England?"

He is looking for help on how to start up a militia group in his area.
Perhaps someone on the forum can provide more information than
what I'm forwarding to Nik.   (see below)

Here is some helpful information:

Open the page and watch the videos... especially "Know Your Militia"    The others
will also be useful.

I'd suggest that you check with all the gunshops in your area.  Ask them
about a patriot/militia group.    If there are none established, you'll have
to start one yourself.

How?

First of all, get on the Radio talk shows.  Sometimes they have a "open mic"
day.  Tell people you're looking for "preppers" and "patriots"    The term "militia"
often scares people (it shouldn't really, but it does).

You can also run a picture ad in the newspapers.   Try something that will get
their attention, such as the minuteman logo   (google images:  minuteman or
patriot)

You can also make up some posters and place them around town, in the windows
of gunshops and on bulletin boards at the markets.

You might also give a call to the service organizations  (VFW, AmVets, DAV, etc.)
ask the person in charge if there is someone who can spend some time training
patriots.   You never can tell what you might come up with.

I am sending your inquiry to our Alaska Patriot Network Forum.   Perhaps there are
others who have ideas since many of our independent groups here in Alaska
started from just a few people discussing the business of preparing...

Also,  I am adding your email address to our Forum.  Please feel free to contribute,
ask questions, make suggestions, etc. etc.

When you get the invitation, you'll be subscribed...

Sir, it may be helpful to check out our unit's web page also..
See: www.centralalaskamilitia.com
Once there go to the "about us" tab and you'll find our hand book. Instead of reinventing the wheel feel free to borrow as much as needed.

hope this helps,
