Hello Commander Olson,

My name is Mike Weinmann, and I'm from a small town in the state of New
York. I am moving to Alaska in September (not sure where yet exactly, I'll
be working for the Department of Natural Resources) and am very eager to
join a civilian militia. As you probably know, militias here in NY are
illegal, but that hasn't necessarily stopped me from acquiring an amount of
knowledge and skills in order to protect myself and my family. Living on a
farm in Upstate NY, I've had lots of land and open areas away from towns to
train, and have had the opportunity to learn from many with strong military
backgrounds in my area. I am a self labeled survivalist, and prepper as
well (basically went to college for it). If you could advise on the best
course of action in order to join the militia and be able to learn and also
contribute, please do! Again I won't be up there until September, but I
would like to get a head start on this. Liberty is something I strongly
believe in, and I would like to be ready and able to defend it if ever
necessary.
