For those of you unable to make the age group section meeting here are some of the highlights.
They will have 11-12, 13, 14 age groups for the 200 strokes and the 400IM. They will have a new set of time standards for these events.
The 15-18 age group will remain but the time standards will be tightened. They aim for 24 in each event (for all ages).
No 1000FR will be added.
They are looking at changing the order of events. The two big things are having 3 100 events on Sunday (100FL, 100BK, 100FR) and splitting up the strokes (50 one day, 100 one day, 200 one day).
They did make a big deal about having times in SWIMS. For this, and all higher level meets, times are checked through SWIMS. If the times are not in SWIMS they are not considered valid. This means that we have to really keep on our meet directors to make sure they are sending the proper information into Alaska swimming so that that information is imputed. One of the LSC's they had issues with was ours.
