Alaska Swimming House of Delegates Information

2008 Alaska Swimming House of Delegates meeting to be held this April
26th. Please forward this email to the appropriate club/team coaches

Age group meeting

For those of you unable to make the age group section meeting here are some of the highlights.
They will have 11-12, 13, 14 age groups for the 200 strokes and the 400IM. They will have a new set of time standards for these events.
The 15-18 age group will remain but the time standards will be tightened. They aim for 24 in each event (for all ages).

Senior Sectional info

Here is the senior sectional meet invite. It has not been sanctioned yet bu should not change. They also will be doing entries online. It will be the same process as with the Great Alaska Open. They have said it should be up on the USA swimming web site at or around Jan 15th.

FYI on Assembly meeting

Friends of Pools,
Many of you are aware of the controversy surrounding the municipal pools
in Anchorage. It has been suggested, or at the very least implied, that
the Anchorage community could be served just as well as it has been by
closing two of the 5 pools.
The two pools that are being threatened are Service and Bartlett pools.

NLSC(Palmer) hosts the State Fair Invite

Alaska Swimming Members,
The Palmer Boosters of NLSC would like to invite you to the first ever
State Fair Invite. The meet is September 1st at the Palmer High Pool
and is a nice light event featuring only sprints. This is great meet
for the early season with heat winners receiving ride tickets for the
