How to use it ?

I didn't understand how to use it. I wanted to convert what I write
from english to marathi (devanagari) characters...how to do it?

It cannot translate (convert) from english to marathi. It uses transliteration scheme.i.e. type in english characters using english keyboard and the characters are automatically converted on the fly into the selected language.

you need to enable aksharamala and type using itrans scheme.
