It's time to renew your USMS registration for 2010. There are two
easy ways to get registered. 1) There is a new registration form
posted at: [link] or 2) go to:
[link] and register on-line.
Both of these are linked from our main page ([link]).

2009 SCM meet

Hello all.

The 2009 AKMS SCM swim meet will be held on 12 December at Bartlett
Pool. The Meet is currently in the process of being sanctioned
(thanks Susan). As soon as I receive the sanction number I will post

New Long Course Records

Catherine and Forest Brooks were Alaska's only representatives at the
USMS Long Course Nationals in Indianapolis this past week. Catherine
set 3 new state records in the women's 60-64 age group while
finishing in the top 5 in all of her events. Her new records are:
100 back: 1:42.41
200 back: 3:40.89

Hi Everyone.
Here's some pictures and the newpaper article from the Fairbanks Miner about the Chena Spash that was held in Fairbanks last weekend. I see several names I recognize Samantha, Mimi, Robin, Dave and would love to hear your tale of the swim. Great job! Looks like this swim might be a great one to put on the calendar for next summer.

Hi everyone,

Ironman China is going on right now if anyone is interested in checking it out. [link] It started at 3pm Alaska time so they'll be racing until tomorrow morning.

It sounds like the swim was pretty tough. The currents were harder than expected and they said some of the age groupers were missing the turn around buoy because the current was pushing them back. There'll definately be some good stories coming out of this one!
