A group member privately asked me for an update on Ajax IM. I think that
he wanted to spare me public embarrassment which I do appreciate. However,
I am pleased to report that Ajax IM is making good progress.
As planned, I have set up hosting and made a nearly identical copy of the
current ajaxim.com web site. The few remaining issues are extremely minor;

Towards the end of 2012, Joshua Gross agreed to let me take over
maintenance of Ajax IM. To that end, I made Ajax IM minimally work on the
latest Node.js version and checked that into GitHub.

For 2013, I plan to set up a server so I can take over hosting the Ajax IM

Hi, all,
A few weeks ago, Josh and I exchanged e-mail. I proposed that I would
maintain and improve Ajax IM 4.0 in addition to my own ajaximrpg
SourceForge project (which is a fork of Ajax IM 3.41). Josh graciously
agreed to consider it. Since then, I created my own Ajax IM 4.0 fork on
GitHub and fixed the "master" branch to work with Node 0.8.9. This

I'm the founder of a Ajax IM 3.41 fork called ajaximrpg. It is meant for
tabletop role-playing games, such as D&D, but the role-playing features can
be easily switched off to make a general use chat client. I've released a
4.00 version and a 5.00 version (last year) and will be releasing a 6.00

Is project still active?
It has been a long time since you posted that post above.
And demo on webpage does not work, at least not for me, on all browsers.

The project is still active, but the progress has been very slow since
it has taken a backseat to the many other things I've been preoccupied
with.

Joshua Gross is the maintainer. He founded, developed and maintained
Ajax IM for quite a few years now. He might just be on a temporary
break or out of the country or dealing with something right now. You
should try to contact him via e-mail or IM or however else you can
figure out.

I believe that there is a co-contributor but I can't think of his name
