The purpose of this job is to provide management, direction and growth for youth development and nutrition-education programming, primarily in the public school setting. 

Responsibilities include implementing and refining programs for educating, engaging and organizing youth around food and nutrition issues; Building relationships with schools and community-based organizations to promote expansion of these programs; Overseeing the planning and daily operation of youth development and nutrition-education programming, including recruitment of schools and individual high school students for internships and school-based chapters; Creating and overseeing recruitment plan for youth summer internship program, including contact with guidance counselors and youth organizations, interviews and selection of participants; Overseeing the planning of in-house trainings and quarterly meetings, including development of educational materials, presentations and training of internal staff; Leading in-house trainings and supervising nutrition- and garden-education workshops in various schools and community-based organizations; Networking with public schools and organizations and maintain and expand collaborative relationships; Working with Research & Evaluation staff and Public Education Manager to revise and further develop relevant curricula and public education materials; Training and supervising staff/interns.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in public health/policy, organizing or related field; Three to five years experience with youth development/organizing or related field required; Self-starter with proven management skills and the ability to work independently, coordinate projects, trouble-shoot and provide leadership; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking and group facilitation; Must be able to establish priorities and a course of action for handling multiple tasks; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required; Experience with Quark or other publishing software a plus; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.
