Purpose of post

Globally, UNICEF raises millions of dollars each year through the internet. Under the guidance and supervision of the New Media Fundraising Specialist, the New Media Fundraising Officer will play a key role in driving income through UNICEF's global network of National Committees, Country Offices and international website unicef.org.


Primary Responsibilities

As a member of the Private Sector Division team in Geneva, the New Media Fundraising Officer will be responsible for the development and day to day coordination of UNICEF's international online fundraising platform. They will also support the New Media Fundraising Specialist in the development of donor stewardship materials, online campaigns and products.


Duties/Tasks

*       Coordinate and support the revamp of the current global online fundraising platform. (www.supportunicef.org).

*       Ongoing responsibility for monitoring and developing UNICEF's international online donation and sales website, payment gateway and donor maintenance plan.

*       Editorial oversight for fundraising platform and supportunicef.org website content development.

*       Coordinate the execution of e-marketing and e-fundraising initiatives for the supportunicef.org website which may include: agency briefings, media targeting, creative production, tracking and post analysis of campaigns. Tactics used might involve the use of search engine marketing, email, social networking and online advertising.

*       Prepare financial and analytic reports on an ongoing basis.

*       Responsible for flow of transactional data from online payment gateway to database of record.

*       Liaise and build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders to support and implement online fundraising goals.

Skill/Experience required

*       University degree in business/marketing, social sciences, humanities or related.
*       Minimum of 3 years previous relevant work experience at professional level with 1-3 years private sector fundraising experience in a not-for profit organization, an international organization or a marketing/fundraising consultancy firm.
*       Minimum of 1 years experience in the use of content management systems, email broadcasting tools and analytics packages.
*       Experience in project management with outside suppliers is a distinct asset.
*       Superior written and verbal communication skills are a must.
*       A keen understanding and interest in the internet.
*       Ability to multi-task.
*       Team player with a positive "can do" attitude.
