Indian Railways to set up medical colleges in Kharagpur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Chennai, Secunderabad

New Delhi: Indian Railways has identified five locations — Kharagpur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Chennai and Secunderabad — for setting up of medical colleges, according to the minister of state for railways K H Muniyappa.
The medical colleges will be set up in public private partnership mode, the minister informed the Lok Sabha on Thursday in written reply to a question.
Muniyappa said that bids for appointment of consultant at Kharagpur were invited. However, the tender was discharged on technical grounds. Retendering for the same is under process. For other four locations, the zonal railways are processing for appointment of consultants.
