Hey Gang,

The 501c3 Submission document has had significant work done, woohoo!
Current status can be seen at:
http://wiki.allhandsactive.com/501c3_Submission

*This is urgent: Jamison, Michael, if you can jump in and help, please do
so, even if you just paypal one of us $20 for a pizza : )*

*Added to the wiki post-meeting: Links to other hackerspaces's 501c3 Form
1023 Drafts & Submissions.
*
*If you can help with an area below, please claim it and move forward.*
Part III Line 1) Purpose Clause needs to be vetted by someone who has
experience with Form 1023 submission

Part IV) Xander: We need a a narrative description of activities. Compare
with other hackerspace submissions.

Part V Line 1) Current Board of Directors / Officers needs to be listed,
and any financial compensation they receive (Josh) needs to be noted

Part VII Line 1) We acquired the assets of Black Galleon, how does this
affect? Needs to be vetted by a lawyer who knows about Non Profits purchase
assets, and operating in part some of the same services previously offered
by a For Profit company

Part VII Line 2) Yes, we are submitting this over 27 months beyond our
incorporation date. We need to talk to someone with experience doing so,
and how to best respond to this.

Part VIII Line 4c and 11) We don't know what real property is, or if our
brief stint in helping GEMSI is something we need to keep in mind.

Part IX) Josh: Needs to fill in as much Financial info as possible, and
possibly get together with Lynne C. to examine unknown questions.

Part X) Are we a private foundation or a public charity? Both fall under
Non Profit status. We need to communicate with someone who knows best.
Comparing other 1023 submissions from other hackerspaces might help

Schedule E) We need someone with experience to help us, same as Part VII
Line 2.

Good stuff, we're almost there!

Ah this didn't go.
All Hands Active is the resident hacker/maker space of Ann Arbor, Michigan. It provides a number of beneficial resources for the community:
1. A central tool resource, providing a central repository in downtown Ann Arbor of various manufacturing and electronic s tools, open to the community.
2. Weekly classes on using these tools, programming, music, art, social engagement, and more.
3. An active community which provides both informational and supportive social on text for both the immediate members and the surrounding community.
Direct members and communal members have used the space to start their own companies, extend their educations, and find their footings when either new to the region or dealing with unemployment.

Hey Gang,

We need to further progress on the 501c3 app. Please read through, take a
line item, and make it happen / research / offer suggestions. Thanks
Michael for emailing about Part IV. Xander, thoughts on this? Harford's app
was accepted, and was (I believe) modeled after NoiseBridge, which was also
accepted. Their's is pretty extensive:
http://wiki.harfordhackerspace.org/index.php?title=Form_1023#Sample_A...

In addition, Noise Bridge included a ton of attachments for their 501c3
app, see examples at:
https://www.noisebridge.net/images/f/f6/Noisebridge-form-1023_attachm...
