Hey Gang,

Jamison noted that us doing summer camps places us in a territory that puts us in competition with a number of local organizations.

Would anyone be against me starting a seasonal page on the AHA site regarding Summer Camps in the Ann Arbor area? We could list / promote the basics, ie:

 . All hands Active
 . Brain Monkeys
 . ID Tech
 . Maker Works
 . Rocks & Robots
 . YMCA / Rec&Ed

That does two things for us:

1) Helps promote other local businesses, which helps spur more good feelings of community love
2) Helps the AHA web site become a go to place for information on activities for Technology/Education, etc.
3) We might be able to get some of the other organizations to link back to us. WEB RINGS!

Er. Seriously though, any complaints about me moving forward with this?

ಠ_ಠ while this pie is not unlimited, placing these different organizations in competition doesn't serve anyone very well. Embiggening the educational pie for kids is the goal here, not stealing customers from anyone else. We shouldn't view it as such and nor should they.

I think having an info page could be useful. Maybe add a link to the wired article (it was in the magazine, I'm assuming its somewhere online) about hackerspaces being a potential tool for the Geek Dad raising his Geek kids.

Aye aye,

Washtenaw County
20,000+ ages 5 to 9
20,000+ ages 10 to 14
30,000+ ages 15 to 19

Not unlimited, but pretty significant, especially given that we're shooting for just 16 of them : )

1) I'll go ahead and generate a post sometime this week that promotes a variety of available awesome geeky Summer Camps.

2) Any thoughts on other ways we can cross promote / help raise awareness in this area?

Woohoo!
