Local creative Geeks,
I have a photographer friend in need of a creative gizmo to hold an iphone for a photograph he is working on. I'm sure those of you in these groups have an idea or a source for something creative. (to see some great and creative photos see Jim's web site he does a lot of automotive photography and architectural work. http://www.jameshaefner.com/) Post any ideas and I'll pass them to Jim.
Thanks for the input,
Gyll Stanford

Date: Saturday, April 13, 2013, 10:00 AMHi Gyll, I'm pricing out a project that has a shot similar to the attached image (sorry about the poor quality). Where would you suggest I look to find a variety of techno gizmos which could have the ability of hold an iPhone? Thanks, Jim__._,_.___Attachment(s) from Gyll Stanford

GO-Tech (formerly NotBAGO) is a meeting for Ann Arbor area readers of Make Magazine, Circuit Cellar, Home Shop Machinist, Kevin Kelly's Cool Tools, slashdot, etc. That is, people who are interested in and make things using technology, whether that's a metal cutting lathe or a Python script. A kind of generalized mixture of CerealBar, DorkBot, Oxford Geek night, and Portland Machinist Guild. We have machinists, electrical engineers, software folks, industrial control types, and so on. We share projects, information about tools and ideas, and connect with like-minded people.

Gyll--
The first couple of posts here
tripod mounts for a smart phone that's taking the photos/videos, but
if it's to take a photo OF the smart phone, maybe a suction cup stuck
on the back of the phone and attached to a support would work. Double
stick tape and Velcro tabs are other options.

Not sure what exactly he's trying to do, but there are 2 solid options. If he doesn't mind obstructing the screen or something not looking pretty, http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=iphone+tripod gives a few promising results.
If he cares about how it looks (I get that feeling from the image provided), something like http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:14760. It could also be made with a metal stand (a beaker stand maybe?).-AndrewOn Sat, Apr 13, 2013 at 12:17 PM, Gyll Stanford <bigbo...@yahoo.com> wrote:
