Second the Nate Yost nomination for sure! I also nominate Justin Konen, Jenn Mann, Matt Oishi, and Matt Kloiber (Skinnyjeans). I'd be happy to see any of these people on the board.

For all them that have been nominated, a reminder: in order for your nomination to be official you must confirm your acceptance of it with a quick email to bo...@allhandsactive.com because we're not going to force elect them that ain't willing.

Sending out a second ping on this - we've only got 2 people that have confirmed their nomination to bo...@allhandsactive.com, so technically they're the only 2 people running:
Valdes and Nate Dotz.

Since there is room for 5, send the board an email if you want to be in the running too!

Hey All,

I accept my nomination to the board.  Disclaimer: While I would love to be on the board either way, I might not be in Ann Arbor for more than a few more months.  I might be staying here, though, I'm not positive.  End disclaimer. Still, I think being a board member of the great thing known as AHA would be great.

I accept nomination to run for a director position at AHA. My previous
experience includes serving on the boards of a historical society, two
community centers, a school board, two condominium associations, and
three corporations. My interest in serving on AHA's board is to help
leverage the hackerspace into higher prominence / visibility, ensure
long term funding, and ensure access to an accessible space amenable
to project work and tool use.

I wish I knew how to quit you, AHA.

I accept nomination to run for director of AHA again. This would be my 3rd term if you all want me to keep at it. Previous accomplishments in this role include 1) getting a nonprofit account set up for AHA; 2) setting up the AHOPs deal with Josh W.; 3) overseeing the initial expansion; 4) getting us liability insurance; and 5) representing AHA to a lot of different audiences. Goals for this next would be to do fundraising to keep getting new tools and more space, and also recruiting more members.

So, I'm officially throwing my name into the pool here.

While I don't have experience leading organizations, I revel in leaving my comfort zone in order to try new things.  Primarily, my goals would be to get more long-term members into our ranks, and to find other ways to help AHA prosper financially/eventually expand further.  Some avenues I would like to explore to do this include the development of AHA into a thriving educational fixture in the community, as well as helping to incubate the great ideas people have into something that will make a mark on the world.

I want to be accessible and to hear your suggestions and ideas about how to make AHA better.  To that end, if I haven't met you yet, drop me a line.  If you're a sneaky AHA Shop list lurker-type and have never been to the space before, I'd be thrilled to show you around -- email me ahead of time, or catch me when I'm there, typically in the evenings.

Let's do this!

I would like to accept Xander's nomination.  While I don't have much history with most of you, and I don't have advanced knowledge of technology, I have a desire to expand AHA's reach to younger people.  My interests mostly lie in the realm of elementary education.  I would like to see more collaboration with schools and children's groups.  There has been some discussion of reaching out to homeschooling networks, and I wholeheartedly want to see that happen.  There are a lot of people out there who I'm sure would love the opportunities we can offer them.  We just need to reach out and find them!  I'm at a time in my life right now where this is exactly the sort of thing I want to be doing.  I have the time and energy to work toward larger goals, and I would like nothing more than to work toward them with you folk!

Thanks :)

Kimberly (Cucumber)
