Hi all!
I've got a working Sunray One thin client that is up for grabs if someone wants and intends to use it. If not, I'm going to throw up on ebay at the end of the week.

If you have a linux box (server etc) you can install the SunRay server side software (small kernel patch, tftp and x11 patch) and then your system will allow Sunrays to connect. Plugin a sunray anywhere on the local network (or across vpn!) and you have a fully functional Linux or Solaris desktop. It supports sound, 1080p resolution, usb devices and smart cards for hot docking. I think I still have a smart card for it somewhere.

A decent server (2-3 year old 2 core server) easily supported 10-20 concurrent users at a time for things like web browsing, text editing compiling etc...Streaming video works but 3D software suffers. GLXGears performance is fairly bad with more than one user.

Why am I not keeping it and using it? Previously packages were provided for newer linux distros but with the latest Ubuntu distribution Oracle (who bought Sun) is no longer providing support. This requires I go back to compiling the kernel and x11 patches myself. I don't feel like doing this since I only have 1 of them presently.

If this device interests you, let me know. You are welcome to have it. I think I still have the stand and a Sun mouse (possibly a keyboard) to go with it. It supports any USB devices though.
