All,

Thanks to Cora for presenting tonight and for the great discussions.

I wanted to share the list of potential topics I captured and were shared by others. Please reply with others.

Exploratory testing techniques
Release Planning
Conflict communication
Lean Start up
TDD development kata
Mainframe and agile
Overcoming organization impediments
Symptoms of heat stroke

If you are interested in any of these topics, you are welcome to present. If you don't feel comfortable presenting by yourself...convince a buddy to co-present...or I'll do one with you.

Thanks,
Tim Gifford

I think we miscommunicated during the AgileIowa meeting. I was arguing
that POs should NOT be setting priorities on retro actions.

I hope I didn't confuse people.

Thank you for having me. If the opportunity arises in the future, perhaps the room temp will allow for planned activities without the risk of anyone dropping from the heat. J

I agree that the PO should not prioritize the retro items.  My opinion is that the team members should prioritize the items and focus first on those items that impact them the most.

There were a lot of great questions and discussions last night! It's great to see there is such interest in Agile.

Tim, another topic idea:  Agile isn’t just for developers; How can testers be incorporated into the teams and how can we move QA up in the processes?

Thanks again!

So, did not get to see your presentation, but I am sure it was great.  I hope all is wonderful for you these days.  I am doing ok here in Ks.  I am supervising the BA/QA group now. How is life treating you up there?

Ditto what Tim said. Thank you Cora for presenting and starting the discussions.

I've got a couple of topics that I'll add to the list:

Value Over Velocity // How velocity tends to rule our lives and we
loose sight of the goal
Stop Listening to Your Customers! // They just lie to us anyway
Professionalism in Product Development // We are all so called
"Professionals", but do we act like it?
Agile Schmagile // Examine the real benefits of agility
PMI Agile, Oxymoron? // Bring the PMO into the fold with the new Agile
extensions to the PMBOK

Tim also made a great offer that I would love to extend as well. If
anyone is interested in a topic but is uncomfortable with presenting
on it, I (and others on this list I'm sure) would be more than happy
to prepare and deliver it with you as a co-presenter.

I will send out a more formal survey to the members of the group soon
to see what topics they are interested in.

Thanks! Hope to see you all next month!

Brandon

I could also help folks get more comfortable presenting to the group.
