The game you played is called XP Game by the guys at Agile Belgium. I agree that itsa great entry point to agile

Thomas Lennon, I'm a scrum master in Ericsson in Ireland.
- what was the first agile game you played?

Not sure the name of the game, but it was an agile planning and estimation game with one of our agile coaches. Basically we did mini 5 minute sprints where we made a commitment to make paper boats and blow up balloons. We had 3 iterations, with a retrospective after each iteration and it showed how sprint planning and estimations could work and evolve per sprint.
- when you played that?

- what was your experience?

Great fun and a great introduction to Agile for the team.

and anything you like to add .. ;-)

I come from a senior Java programmer background and have been scrum mastering properly for the last 12 months and before that on and off in a more traditional "fragile" organisation. I'm also interested in team development and coaching. Looking forward to using a few games to bring a bit of fun to the team.

Actually, the "guys" from Agile Belgium are *Vera* Peeters and I. I
wouldn't call Vera a guy; certainly not if she can hear me :-)

Anyway, if you want to know more everything's available freely at
http://www.xp.be/Games/ and http://www.agilecoach.net/

Have fun!

Ahhh I see what I did there! Apologies for any offense caused :)
however I should point out that I do use the term guys to mean "guys
and gals!", I think its a local thing here because we use it all the
time in the office.

Will take a look over the links tonight.

Thomas, no offense caused. The "guys" comment was actually by Adrien
Perreau de Pinninck. And Pierre attributed the game to me.

Actually, most of the content of the XP Game comes from Vera. So if we
talk about "guys", it feels to me as if we exclude her or discount her
contribution.

Would be great if we talked about the "boys AND girls" or "guys AND
gals" at xp.be

I started talking about girls in this case.
Why should it always be boys from the moment one men is part of the group?

And in this case, girls was even more appropriate as Vera did more (
at least that is what pascal always tells me)
