Hi Jon,

I haven't seen such a game despite my try to find something in this area.

I want to promote "trim the tail" thinking after being inspired Alistair Cockburn's model of "Knowledge value aqquisition" and Risk-Value-Tail model.

For me it sounds simillar to your idea of MVP and teaching Product Managers to find the minimum and so "trim the tail".

If you find or develop the game - please, please, share it here.

If you need the sparring partner for discussions - you can count on me :-)

With best regards,
Tim

A bit meta perhaps, but how about letting the participants develop the game for you? Asking them to develop the minimum viable exercise that would show the value of early and incremental deliveries. I have no idea how that would work since my brain just went into an infinite loop but I would love to try it out myself if I got the chance. :-)

Cheers!

Your MVP is about customer discovery -  "The minimum viable product is that version of a new product which allows a team to collect the maximum amount of validated learning about customers with the least effort."

I was going to recommend Andrè's most excellent snowflake game, and Ram beat me to it.

Thanks for all these suggestions. Part of my dilemma is trying to work out what problem I am trying to solve. We have Product Managers with a very firm vision of what they would like although still focused on a single monolithic delivery.

I'll take a look and report back.

Regards,

Jon

Hi Jon,

Try to read the Alistair's article about Elephant Carpaccio http://alistair.cockburn.us/Elephant+carpaccio

It has the link to the exerciese on the top. To make the exercise you will need developers to participate. Pairing a Product Manager with a Developer through an exercise will give you the unique experience and complete change of mindset.

Maybe, to facilitate the exercise with the top management, you may need to experience it first.

My dillema is to find as powerfull exercise without coding :-)
