New Book
Update
Finally! I'm ready to announce that the first draft chapters from my next book are available. These five chapters make up
all of part one. The book will be called Succeeding With Agile.
I've been actively writing
for 2+ years and have been collecting anecdotes and information for the
book
for over three years.
Most of the chapters are written in my initial draft; I'm going back through them and getting them ready for you to look
at. I hope to have Part 2 available within three weeks. From there I'll balance my time between writing the last 3-1/2 chapters and getting chapters
ready for review. In good agile or lean fashion, I'll do my best to maintain a nice steady flow of chapters out for review.
You can download chapters from SucceedingWithAgile.com, where they will remain available through approximately 20 November. If you have time to read them and
send me comments, suggestions, and other feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. I'll need feedback by 1 December if I am to incorporate it into the
final book. My previous books benefited tremendously from all
the community contributions and suggestions I got. I look forward to improving this book through your suggestions.
Please spread the word about the draft chapters. The more people who know about the book, read chapters, and send me
comments, the better. Thank you.
Upcoming Classes
I've got a full range of classes scheduled--Agile Estimating and Planning, Effective User Stories for Agile Requirements,
Certified Scrum Product Owner, and Certified ScrumMaster.
You can get full the full
schedule on the Mountain Goat site, which we've recently made easier to use. You can now view classes by city or month.
Upcoming
Conferences
I will be speaking at Software
Development Best Practices in Boston from October 27-30. I'll be presenting half-day tutorials on Prioritizing Requirements: Practical Tips
for Time-Constrained Projects and Experiencing Agility from Requirements to Planning. I'll also be giving a 90-minute session on
Agile Estimating and Planning.
Wrapping up the 2008 conference season for me will be the Agile Development Practices conference in Orlando from November 10-13.
I've got four
half-day tutorials that week plus I will be co-presenting a 90-minute class session
Thanks for your time.
Regards,
Mike
