I just posted a longish article on my blog outlining why we need
something like OpenTransact. It doesn't go into much about
OpenTransact itself, but rather tries to explain to people from
outside the industry what is wrong with current standards like SWIFT
and ISO8583 etc.

I am not an expert in most of these previous standards and may have
misunderstood parts of it or oversimplified things, so I'd appreciate
corrections to any serious mistakes I've made.
