Subject: Biodiversity Research Mapper

Dear Colleagues,

Despite ever-increasing creative and technological innovation in
cataloguing, organizing and sharing biodiversity data, there is a lack of a
strategy to promote the gathering of information about biodiversity data
generators.  The goal of the Biodiversity Research Mapper is to encourage
the academic, governmental and non-governmental, conservation and lay
communities to consolidate information regarding who we are (profiler),
where we are studying (finder for the spatial localization of the sites) and
what types of organisms we study.  The goal of the site is to serve as a
gate to connect the community of people working on biodiversity data around
the globe and not to become a repository of data or meta-data.

We would like to encourage you to visit and use the Biodiversity Research
Mapper at: http://www.biodivresearchfinder.uqam.ca/
<http://www.biodivresearchfinder.uqam.ca/>

Please feel free to advertise and distribute the link to anyone that you
think would be interested in the system.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact us at
biodiversity.research.map...@gmail.com
<mailto:biodiversity.research.map...@gmail.com>

Best regards,
