Subject: opening of GS-12/13 Public Affairs Specialist Position in USFWS
Portland, Oregon Regional Office

Friends and Conservation Partners,
   I promised to alert you when we (the Pacific Region, USFWS) began
recruiting for a GS-12/13 Public Affairs Specialist in our Portland, OR,
Regional Office.   The announcement for folks without government status was
announced on USAJOBS for one week beginning Monday.  This is a wonderful
opportunity in a wonderful region, which includes Idaho, Oregon, Washington,
Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.   We've taken care to write the
announcement in a manner that will give conservation communicators a fair
shot, even if they don't have federal experience.
   If you know of members of your organization interested in the
opportunity, please forward them this note.   We appreciate your support of
our shared conservation goals.
