Department of Fisheries Oceanography
We seek fisheries scientists with research interests in one or more of the following areas: fisheries stock assessment, fisheries stock identification, fisheries survey methodology (including acoustics, trawl surveys, and advanced technologies), survey design and statistical analyses, and ecosystem assessments and modeling of environmental factors influencing fish and shellfish populations with focus on but not limited to the Northwest Atlantic Ocean continental shelf. Interested applicants should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly accomplishments, a capability to build a strong interdisciplinary research program with extramural support, and a commitment to service.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. relevant to one of the following research areas: fisheries oceanography, marine and estuarine sciences, marine ecology, population dynamics. Requirements also include postdoctoral or faculty experience, a corresponding publication and grant record, strong pedagogical skills, strong written and oral communications skills, and demonstrated ability to work in cooperative research.
