Hello,

We use an electronic filing cabinet that has the option built in of
mailing. It is supposed to use any Mapi compliant email clients but
we have used microsoft outlook without problem. We use Google apps -
premiere edition for all our emailing, calendaring, etc. needs. So I
am trying to get rid of using outlook and downloaded and tried
affixa. It works great for emailing from word, excel, send to, etc.
But when I try to send via email through our electronic filing cabinet
program I get the following error.

Either there is no mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook
and set it as the default mail client.

After that the program crashes and has an error report it wants to
send off. I check it and there is an error with the mapi2xml.dll.

I am also sending a support request to this 3rd party.

Any ideas on where to look to fix this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I have heard back from tech support.

They told me that by default their program uses extended mapi and i
could force it to use simple mapi. After making this change I do not
receive the error.

Either there is no mail client or the current mail client cannot
fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook
and set it as the default mail client.

The program still crashes with a mapi2xml.dll error.

So..I am closer but not quite there.

If there is anything I can provide to help solve this please let me
know.

Hi Steve,

Can you let me know the version of Affixa, version of Windows, whether
it's x86 or x64, etc?

Many thanks,

Chris

It occurred to me that I might not have explained what the 3rd part
program does.

It is an electronic file cabinet. It has as one of it's features to
mail a document directly from the program. When we do this it
converts the document to a pdf file and starts an email with that file
attached. I am assuming that it is doing it in some sort of standard
way since it uses both basic mapi as well as extended mapi to
integrate with a mail client.

I would really like to get this working and deployed on about 25
machines as Afixxa is a much better solution for us than using
outlook.

Please let me know if there is a way I can help debug this.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Just wondering if you could send the full text of the mapi2xml.dll
problem?

All the best,

Chris

The FileCabinet program was recently updated.

I no longer get a mapi2xml.dll error. But, it still doesn't work.
The FileCabinet program flashes and then I can't select it anymore and
basically have to end task to get out of it. An email is not created
as well.

I wish I knew how to help debug this with some sort of trace.

This FileCabinet program is "supposed" to work with any mapi compliant
email.
