Subject: Re: New Adwords Phishing Scam active
Hello Martins,

First off, thank you for the heads-up, which I know was meant to
protect your fellow forum members.

As an important alert, however, I would ask any forum member who
chooses to post about phishing that you please DO NOT post to this
forum (or any other public forum) and include a live URL that is
potentially dangerous to anyone who might click on it.

When such a link is posted, it is actually putting the very people you
are trying to protect at risk - and I very much wish to avoid that
here.

For this reason, I have removed your post, and copy/pasted it below
minus the '.cn' URL you mentioned.

Ok, just wanted to give you all heads up on a new adwords phishing
scam still active as I write this.

Stay away from this URL: [.cn URL removed for member safety]

Below, please find information to help you to avoid phishing, and how
to report it if you see it.

* What do I do if I receive a suspicious email claiming to be from
AdWords?

Also, while we are on the topic, I'd like to mention a blog post from
the Official Google Blog which provides useful tips on how to
recognize and avoid phishing attacks:

* How to avoid getting getting hooked:

Thanks again,

Thanks Martins. ;)

On the general topic of account security, I noticed that the Official
Google Blog posted a very useful article on the subject of how to
choose a 'strong' password, and keep it safe. The article is one a
series on online safety, and well worth reading (and then acting upon)
in my opinion.

Here's a peramalink to the above mentioned article:

* Does your password pass the test?
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/06/does-your-password-pass-test.html

And, here's a permalink to the entire series - once there you'll want
to scroll down and down and down:

Later on, I'll probably create a second thread going into a bit more
detail on this series of blog posts, and pin it to the top of page for
awhile - since this subject is top-of-mind for many people.
