A friend of mine recently told me about how he uses Twitter to get
AdWords advice. Being a little slow to jump on the trend wagon, I
didn’t even know what Twitter was. But, as it turns out, Google is
currently exploring the use of Twitter as a different support model.
Which got me to wondering if my fellow forum members used Twitter?
Would you be interested in AdWords Twitter support? Is this idea crazy
or worth exploring (or maybe both!)?
If anyone has any feedback or can share their Twitter experience (even
just a general thumbs up or thumps down), I would love to pass it on
to our potential Twitter team.
I am a regular Twitter user. As a photographer I comment on (or I
could say, I tweet about) photo related topics and add in a smattering
of comments on
local (bay area) events, tech subjects, and some personal comments
too. Sometimes I answer questions on photography.
I can see from my web stats that my web site gets regular hits off my
Twitter page and I do consider it worthwhile for people
who have time for microblogging social networking.
Twitter does need to monetize itself! I think adwords on twitter would
be accepted by the users

This is my second reply, in order to better answer your question!
Yes, I think Twitter could be used to answer user questions and
provide support. Twitter was successfully used by NASA and the Mars
Phoenix Lander. Thousands of followers got to ask questions directly
to NASA about the Phoenix Lander. Twitter could be used by Adwords to
disseminate information like system maintenance or phishing scams or
refer people to detailed information via an embedded link in the
tweet. But it works less well, I think, for long back-and-forth
discussions since you are limited to 140 characters. Still, I think
it's worth a try.

Here's a small experiment. I just tweeted the following on Twitter:
"Google AdWords misery: ad campaign great for 4 days then suddenly
stopped. No ads run, my keywords are "poor", google does not explain.
Why?"
That was exactly 140 characters, btw. Let's see if I can get an answer
to my query.

When "Comcastcares" (http://twitter.com/comcastcares) is using twitter
very successfully why can't google? I really like to join in Google -
Twitter revolution

There are a lot of SEO and PPC people on Twitter, and it can be a very
good resource for support.
One of the best support examples to check out is http://twitter.com/comcastcares
You can also get a Tweet management program to watch for any instances
of "AdWords" or other relevant terms to come up in other peoples'
tweets, and then reply as needed.
It can be a quick easy way to provide an extra outlet for support, and
I think you should pursue it.
