We have now reached our 25 campaign limit. Those who managed GoogleAds
before my time did not appreciate how it was structured. I now need to
re-structure the campaigns and make more use of adgroups. Does anyone
have experience of re-creating campaigns and adgroups without losing
data?
Good news and bad news. The bad news is that reorganizing your account
will cause you to lose the performance data (impressions, clicks, CTR
etc). The good news is, done correctly, you can restructure without
losing your Quality Score history (yay!). The trick is to move
keywords with the best performing ad text. Because Quality Score is
determined at the keyword/ad text level, you can move the pair to new
ad groups/campaigns without losing the history. It can be a bit
tedious, but will ensure that you do not see a drop in performance due
to the reorg.

Have you tried using AdWords Editor? If you are, it’s easy to copy and
move keywords using it (jump to steps below). If you are not, I highly
recommend it for managing accounts. Essentially, it’s a free
downloadable application that allows you to download your account,
make changes (offline) and then upload the edits when you are
finished.
You can download Editor at any time by visiting http://www.google.com/intl/en/adwordseditor/ (You can also find FAQs by clicking on the ‘Help Center’ link in the
upper right hand corner of the page).
1. In the tree view, select the ad group containing the keywords you
want to copy or move.
2. Click the Keywords tab.
3. Select one or more keywords.
4. Go to the Edit menu > Copy or Cut to copy or cut the keywords.
5. In the tree view, select the ad group where you want to paste the
keywords.
6. Go to the Edit menu > Paste to paste the keywords.
