Is there any known issue to access to sandbox? It used to work for
me, but recently, I don't seem to be able to connect to it.
adwords.useragent=AdWords API PHP Sample Code
adwords.email=reac...@gmail.com
adwords.password=#########
adwords.developer.token=reac...@gmail.com++USD
adwords.client.email=client_1...@gmail.com
adwords.url = https://sandbox.google.com/
adwords.version=v12

Here is the error I got:

AxisFault
faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}
Server.userException
faultSubcode:
faultString: Login with this username/password failed.
faultActor:
faultNode:
faultDetail:
{https://adwords.google.com/api/adwords/v12}fault:
<ns1:code>9</ns1:code>
<ns1:message>Login with this username/password failed.</
ns1:message>
<ns1:trigger>reac...@gmail.com</ns1:trigger>

Login with this username/password failed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David.

Hello David,

No, there shouldn't be any issues accessing the Sandbox at the
moment. It very much sounds like a case of mismatched email address
and password. Make sure that you're using the same password as you
would if, for example, you were signing in to that email address in
GMail.

On closer inspection, we're hearing this from a few other folks as
well. I'm not having trouble using the Sandbox account I normally log
in with, but when I just tried using a different GMail account, I see
the "Login with this username/password failed." too.

So it does look like there's something going on here--we'll look into
it.

I'm having the same issues accessing the Sandbox with the XML version
of the API.

I'm having the same issues too. Is there already a solution?

I am having problems also.

Maybe the issue is related to periodic cleansing of sandbox accounts?
I returned from vocation and .NET application that was working with
sandbox the day before I left is not working now when I got back. No
change -- same app.

I have tried downloading the latest .NET library
(awapi_dotnet_lib_2.1.0.tar.gz) and switching to v13 but no luck. My
regular account works but sandbox reports "Exception: Login with this
username/password failed."

Hello All,

Sorry about the lack of an update on Friday.

To answer a few questions, this is not related to a periodic refresh
of the Sandbox accounts. There should also not be a connection between
the version of a client library you're using and whether you have
trouble logging in or not.

Not all accounts are affected (the initial account I tried with was
not), but we're not sure at the moment why some accounts are having
issues logging in and others are not. The issue does seem to lie with
the code that talks to the Google Account service, and the core
engineering team is examining whether there are any recent changes to
the version of that service that the Sandbox speaks to that might
explain this behavior.

It's being actively investigated, and I'll let folks know when
there's an update.

Hello Folks,

Just to update everyone on the Sandbox unavailability: there's a
patch to the account login code that has just been submitted. The
actual Sandbox servers haven't been restarted yet to pick up this
patch, though.

I am hopeful that once the patch goes live the login issues will be
resolved, and I'll update this post when that takes place. Apologies
in the meantime for the continued unavailability--I've said this
before, but the team is aware that Sandbox is an important part of the
development and release cycle, and minimizing the unplanned downtime
is something that we can definitely improve on.

Cheers,

Any news on this? I'm still not able to connect to sandbox. What I
would like to see, is some Webpage where developers can see if sandbox
is online or not...

I'm still getting login failures. If the patch has gone live, then
apparently it didn't work.

Just wondering if we know if the patch has been applied, or when that
might happen. Just under a bit of pressure to get this API done.

Thanks.

Hello,

The servers have not yet been restarted--because it's outside of the
normal release cycle there's a couple of layers of approval and
scheduling that it needs to go through, but the emergency request was
made.

Hi Jeff,
FYI we are having the same problem here this last week(and currently),
pipping up with the same interest in the sandbox, can't keep test in
production...

Hello Jeff,
Can you please give us an ETA? We are eagerly awaiting this. Our
product release has been blocked currently.

On another note: You said that some logins are not affected. Is this
set partitioned? If you can give us a partition set we can try using
those logins instead.

Thanks a lot for your time,
Santosh

Since Friday 19. Dec. I am not able to access the AdWords sandbox API.
I got the same error message as quoted several times in the post.
Please provide some information about
the date when we will have access to the sandbox.

Thanks

I would like an ETA on this as well. I hadn't expected this to be
down for a week. Can't you just back off whatever change broke the
system?

Okay, everything's been pushed out now and I've tested it successfully
against the live Sandbox.

Can folks give it a try and confirm that the Sandbox is functioning as
expected?

And just as a heads-up from another thread, the Sandbox database is
going to be refreshed tomorrow, Friday Dec. 19:

Hello David,

Checking this Google Group is the best way to stay up to date about
what's going on with the Sandbox. We've put some more automated
Sandbox monitoring in place and we'll post about any Sandbox-wide
issues here when they occur, but in reality chances are an affected
developer will have already posted about it.

Cheers,

Hi,
the sandbox worked for about half day and now is not working again,
and the faltcode changes from "Login with this username/password
failed." to “Either this object does not exist, or this user does not
have permission to access it.”

thx

Hello Rickey,

There a number of causes for that SOAP fault, and they are not
related to code that was recently changed having to do with logins.
Have you tried exercising your code against a newly created campaign/
ad group/etc. combination? Are you using the same clientEmail for all
your requests?

I just tried creating a new campaign and ad group in the Sandbox and
had no trouble with that.

Also, today's Sandbox database refresh has not yet taken place, but
it should within the next few hours, and at that point you'll once
again have to recreated your campaign structure.

Cheers,
-Jeff Posnick, AdWords API Team
