Subject: API charges
Can someone please give me an estimate of the API charges for various
operations using APIlity? I just checked my AdWords account and nearly
jumped when I saw that I had totalled $879.82 in API charges so far
this month and I was barely paying attention to it! I just assumed the
cost would be minimal.

What is the cost of running an All Time Keywords report for 20,000
keywords? What is the cost of running an AdGroup report for 700 ad
groups? What is the cost of updating the maxCpc for 20,000 keywords?

Also, how can I calculate and display what the charges are as I am
using APIlity? I would like to be able to display the total cost for a
series of operations as I am performing them.

There is a detailed rate sheet:
http://code.google.com/intl/de-DE/apis/adwords/docs/developer/adwords...

scheduleReportJob = 500 quota units = US$0.125

> What is the cost of updating the maxCpc for 20,000 keywords?

updateCriteria = 3 per item = 60.000 = US$15

I hope I didn't miscalculate.

Subject: Re: API charges
I see, thank you.

I have found that I can save a great amount on API charges, simply by
pulling in full all-time reports of Keywords, AdGroups, and Content
Network (I may do Placements later too). By processing those reports,
I can generate database files for AdWords Editor, and thus my only API
charges are for the reports I generate, $0.13 each.

There are some features missing from APIlity reports, such as getting
the AdGroup report to show Search traffic only and excluding Content
Network traffic. To get around this, I have to download both the
AdGroup and Content Network reports, and then subtract the two. Could
you add these extra features to APIlity reports?

There is a funny thing about Google's Content Network reports too.
There are more clicks shown on the Content Network report than is
actually shown in my account if I login to Google's MCC dashboard. I
think this is because Google subtracts out a few "fraudulent" content
network clicks from time to time, yet however those clicks are still
showing on the Content Network Report. The difference messes up my
stats a little, but I am not using the content network much right now,
so I have been just disregarding it. Is there any way to get Google to
provide a Content Network report that shows up-to-date stats,
including the subtracted fraudulent clicks? Or otherwise, perhaps it
would be better to use the AdGroup report, and include the option to
exclude Content Network traffic, but I don't see that APIlity allows
that option.
