Suddenly my # of impressions on AdMob have doubled without any valid reason (or increase in users)

Since last 2-3 days my # of impressions on AdMob via AdWhirl seemed to
have doubled leading to lower CTRs and eCPMs.

Even though I've set a refresh rate of 180secs, AdWhirl data is
indicating a huge number that indicates a refresh rate of 60 seconds
or so.

I have not update my live app in the last 2 weeks. In between via our
config file I had switched to MobClix directly briefly with a refresh
rate of 45secs but then reverted the config back to AdWhirl. I know
its back to AdWhirl because after the switch out I had seen
impressions drop and after the switch back to Adwhirl I saw the
impressions climb back but double of what was expected.

Any idea what could be the reason?

Unless you're seeing this refresh issue live on the device, I'd expect that it's something that's changed on the AdMob end.
