Science & Spirituality
Edwin Taylor & Ken Bernstein
We are a group engaged in exchanging thoughts on ideas in science and their influence on our spiritual lives. Each meeting is (usually) independent of previous meetings; therefore, one may join the group at any time without experiencing loss of continuity. The subject readings for each meeting will be agreed upon at the previous meeting and be posted in the Unitarian and sent by e-mail to all who request them.
Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the conference room of the Church.
For more information contact Edwin at eta...@uubelmont.org, 781-646-7775. To register contact Ken atklbe...@uubelmont.org, 617-489-3118

Coming Up!

Book Group to discuss Lily King’s Father of the Rain on Wednesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Library

Lily King’s Father of the Rain, 2010 New England Book Award winner for fiction, comes highly recommended by two Book Group members.  Publisher’s Weekly provided this description, “[King’s] third novel, narrated by the clear-eyed daughter of an alcoholic father, follows their evolving relationship. The opening scene-- with 11-year-old Daley and her father wreaking delirious havoc by streaking naked at a martini-fueled pool party in the sleepy Boston suburbs-- brims with Daley's love for her father and desire for connection with him, but is also tinged with the repercussions of a charismatic man divorced from the role of parenthood . . . King's latest is original and deftly drawn, the work of a master psychological portraitist.” Please come join us!

The Book Group warmly welcomes new members and returning members at any time, whether you have finished reading the book or just begun.  We meet on the fourth Wednesday of most months. If you have questions about the Book Group, please contact Anne Stuart atast...@uubelmont.org.
