Hi all,

since ADT r15 (or maybe r16...) it seems that checking "Use same
device for future launches" on the Android Device Chooser dialog has
absolutely no effect on next launches. I always get the Device Chooser
Dialog whenever I run an application from Eclipse.
While I haven't found anywhere any explanation on the real purpose of
this check-box, I thought it's label speaks for itself.
But maybe not...

Does someone already experience this problem with this feature ? Is
there something special to do to make it work ?

Thanks for your feedback :)

PS: I'm working on Linux 3.0.0-17-generic-pae, Ubuntu oreiric, Eclipse
3.7.0, Android SDK Tools r17, ADT 17.0.0, generally using a Samsung
Galaxy Tab with Android 3.2.
And sorry if there's already a discussion on this topic, but I was
unable to find any...

As long as you are using the same launch configuration, and the same
device is still connected, it should not pop up the device chooser
dialog. Is anyone else seeing this issue?

I confirm launch configuration remains the same and the device remains connected between launches.

I am also seeing this problem where "Use same device for future launches" doesn't seem to work.

Here's the work-around:

Choose Run -> Run Configurations, and go to the Target tab. If "Manual" is selected, the "Use same device for future launches" checkbox will have no effect, so change it to Automatic. When it's set to Automatic, you won't get reprompted. I'm really not sure what the expected behavior is supposed to be between these two options, but this is how I've found that they work.

I've added this info to the bug.

Thanks.
