Google sent a message yesterday that I had 60 days to give some secret
code to get my $10. I replied that I don't have the secret code. Today
all my ads have disappeared, with public service ads instead.
This is SO annoying. Why????
Also, does anyone have a phone number to call? I've written 3 emails
in 10 days and get gobbledygook answers. Since Google is supposed to
be BUSINESS PARTNERS with us, this is totally unprofessional.

That is what happens if the PIN process is not completed. Believe it
or not, it is a security measure to protect you and you account.
> This is SO annoying. Why????
Because a process that needs to be completed hasn't been completed
yet.
> Also, does anyone have a phone number to call?
AdSense does not at this time have phone support.
> I've written 3 emails in 10 days and get gobbledygook answers.
That often happens when they have to assume you have read the
available information and yet still have a question. They sort of
shot-gun it trying to figure out what else your problem might be.
> Since Google is supposed to

Google is not our business partner, they supply ads, that's it.
But even assuming they were our business partner, if you had a
business partner that didn't do what was required of them to know what
they were doing even though the information were easily and freely
available, what would you do?
If you want to know how I know all that I wrote above, it is simple, I
did a search in the AdSense Help Center which basically has everything
you need to know about AdSense.
The problem is, most people never think to look there when they could
have had their questions answered in seconds instead of weeks or
longer often leading to disruption of the service and sometimes the
disabling of one's account.
I'm curious, Craig: were you trying to be helpful or snotty? Now I
need to reply to your "questions" rather than get the problem solved.
I looked all over help. The only ads that disappeared were those in
blogger, and I have WordPress.
Please explain to me how public service ads are a "security measure."
And why the USPS is safer than email. (I call Washington DC for help
with them. Adsense doesn't even have a phone, and yet they go back to
the good old US Mail to get their work done.) And when someone asks a
direct question, as I did on this forum before, and doesn't get a real
response, why should I get gobbledygook answers by email? That's just
poor communication on their part - and laziness.
Last, please note that the email said 60 DAYS, not 2 days. No answer,
just a wipeout of all my ads. Charming.

I agree with your concern. I have many websites running Adsense ads.
Only one has recently stopped showing ads out of the blue. Now it
hasn't stopped altogether, but every ten minutes or so, ads within the
entire domain disappear. One block of ad links may appear, but the
skyscraper and 460 wide blocks are gone. Then they come back for 10
minutes or so and then disappear again. There are more than enough
ads for this topic.
No other domains (on same server) are having problems. I actually
thought that there may be a TOS conflict with some of the headers and
html title, so I removed all title and headers. Still can't run ads
on a regular basis.
Could the site be too successful? I've had great success with ads on
that domain, and now I can't even run ads on it consistently. Yes,
I'm making a few dollars off the site, but so is Google...
I actually found a way to fix the problem this week. I registered for
Yahoo ads. I see no other alternative since this is a big problem on
this forum and there are no answers from Google.

I think it was more on the order of "Helpful with an undertone of
RTFM."
It basically comes down to people getting annoyed when they are often
the cause on any situation to get annoyed about.

On that page is the following:
"If you have not entered your verification code within 4 months, we
will replace the paid advertisements on your site with unpaid Public
Service Ads."
Or, if you have not received the PIN, searching on the terms "not
received pin" turns up https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35870 which has on it,
"If you do not receive your first PIN, you can request 2 replacement
PINs. For instructions on requesting a new PIN, visit How can I
request a new PIN?."
> Please explain to me how public service ads are a "security measure."

If someone has hijacked your account, which would you prefer, they be
able to profit more from it or they being stopped from making any more
than what they already got?
Run a mail server some time and then ask me the question about the
security of email.

You pay taxes to Washington DC.

You are talking about laziness?

The clock runs out from the point in time at which you reach the $10
level regardless of what the e-mail said.
So, have you verified receipt of your PIN yet or requested it be
resent?
