Want to improve your ad performance? We want to help you.
Over the coming weeks, we will to share our optimisation tips with
you, and hope you will let us all know what you find works best on
your site.
This week, how about trying to implement a 300x250 medium rectangle
above the fold, and opting-in to both text and image ads?
The medium rectangle is one of our best performing ad units. See how
it can perform for you, and share your thoughts with us here on this
thread. We look forward to your feedback.
And, if the medium rectangle doesn't suit your site, maybe you will
find next week's tip useful.
The 300x250 image only is the best preforming for me, I have it on
about 200 pages and it out performs all the rest. next best, and this
was a big surprise are the link units, but just because the image only
works well for me does not mean it will work for everbody, it all
depends on your site content.

Saw, you'll find that if you take the time to go through it yourself
you will learn more and be much better at what you do. Asking for step
by step instructions will not do you as good in the longer term

I've done it before, but I am trying again, I'll try the 300x250 with
text and image, see how it works out in a single high traffic area of
my site...for me it seems the text ads have always worked out better
tho, image ads never seem to very well...
Just cuz my daughter is named Ashley as well, I have to trust you and
give it a go.

I'm sure this is a REALLY stupid question, but here goes: you mention
placing the ad above the fold. I know where the fold of my arm is,
but where is the "fold" of my website? Thanks!

I have been using this setup for a while now. Its really good. At the
risk of advert overload I have placed 2 of these squares at the top of
my page.
At first I balked at doing that thinking its too 'in your face' by
having 2 squares, but I compromised by having them removed if someone
becomes a member of the site and logs in. So guests see the adverts,
but members don't. Everyone is happy all round. People can join and be
free from the adverts so I get more members joining.
Hi Ashley,
Does this post now take over from the 'Optimisation Tips' Message
posted to my control panel. It started and ended in April 2007! Hope
your post(s) will have a better 'longevity' factor.
Can confirm that the 300x250 ATF is by far the most profitable unit on
my sites.
