What Guillermo was trying to highlight in his post is that sex tips
and sexual health are borderline topics, which may be considered adult
(and therefore unacceptable) in some cases, and not adult (and
acceptable) in others. Unfortunately it's tough to be more specific
than this, but I can give you some examples of the distinction.
A casually written blog about someone's cooking lessons, for example,
would probably be acceptable in the AdSense network, while a casually
written blog about someone's personal sex tips probably wouldn't be
acceptable. This is what Guillermo meant by a "higher standard of
professionalism" for borderline adult content sites. On the other
hand, sexual health advice as part of a medical support site would
likely be considered health-related or educational instead of adult.
To reiterate Guillermo's last tip: "While it's not a sure test, we
sometimes suggest that publishers ask themselves the following
questions to determine if content is family-safe: Would I be
comfortable viewing this content with my parents or children in the
same room?"
Dating websites differ from sex tips websites because they promote
relationship-building instead of reproduction. No one on this planet
has a problem with building a problem, but plenty have a problem with
a relationship's most private (and age specific) moments plastered on
the internet.
