Google submitted my Dec earnings by EFT on Jan 25. The bank account
(Canadian dollars) is the same account I've been receiving payments at
for the last 6 months. The deposit went through into my bank account.
Now today in my Adsense profile Google claims it didn't go through,
have credited my Adsense account, and have reissued the EFT payment as
of todays date to that same account. Doesn't make sense.
Plus, they have now made that bank account ineligible for accepting
future payments because according to them it is not a valid account.
But they reissued the second payment to it after the first failed?
What's also strange is the exchange rate for the two different EFT
transactions are vastly different, the first one at 0.981 (incorrect)
and the second one at 1.030 (correct).
Anyone hear of other payment problems, or have a suggestion as to my
follow-up?
I have very similar problem. Also had account for over 9 months. I
actually can see that money are in my bank account. I am also from
Canada. I am sure they doing something, and I'll just wait till they
fix this.

I had the same thing happen. My bank account says the money was
deposited on January 28th but this morning I had a pink notice on my
account stating that EFT payment failed ... I tried to get the bank
account to work again and it looks like I've got to list a new one.
I'm hoping this is either a glitch with Google or perhaps we both use
the same bank and they had a glitch yesterday? Mine is CIBC. At any
rate the money appears to be in the bank so I'd like to continue using
that same bank account rather than listing another one.

Same here, in Canada. I just found the other thread from earlier this
month - it appears everything sorted for them in a couple of says and
that it was just a display error. Here's hoping...

I am with RBC here in Canada and having the same issue with a message
stating the EFT failed but upon contacting RBC they noticed the
deposit indeed went through but I'm guessing it might only apply
towards the next payment cycle. RBC informed me that the account was
in good standing and that there were no issues since I've been
receiving payments the last 5 months. All of a sudden its asking me to
add a new account. When I try to add the same account it would not
let me saying its a duplicate account number. I've contacting support
to see if they can shed some light on the issue but looks like I'm not
the only one having this problem.

It was actually a thread re NZ & AUS dollars, but the same issue I
think, arrising out of currency problems. I wonder if it's an error
occuring by country at different times? Theirs was earlier in Jan.
I, too, am with RBC. Checked with bank, deposit fine, and I have two
payments now showing below the EFT error message in my adsense
summary. The first of these was less than the total originally sent,
and the second smaller one (which corrected the total amount) just
appeareed in the last 5 mins. I think they're correcting the system in
their own way, and hopefully our "Hold" status is just a result of
this. It seems to have disappeared after a couple of days for the NZ &
AUS folks, hopefully ours will be the same.

No reply from Google but they have issued a payment for the difference
between what was erroneously reported as "rejected" and the second,
lesser payment. So it looks like this should be automatically
corrected for most people, if not for everybody.
Exact same issue here for a Canadian Scotiabank account. just noticed
it today and fired off a support request. will post something here if
it gets resolved.

Just received the e-mail re this issue and its resolution over time.
Thank goodness this time Google has been upfront about the issue and
explained all to allay fears.
It looks as though it arose from an incorrect currency exchange rate
first time around.

Yes, there was an issue with January EFT payments to Canadian
publishers. Publishers affected by this issue have been contacted by
email. If you believe you should have received this email and haven't
seen it, please check your Bulk and Spam email folders, and make sure
you're looking at the email account associated with your AdSense
account.
As described in the email, please know that the 'EFT not successful -
earnings credited back' line in your payment history is there to
balance the amounts within your AdSense account, and your EFT payment
was not actually unsuccessful. Please don't change your form of
payment until you've received the remaining portion of your January
payment, which will be sent this week.
Ok I just received a reply from Google (amazed at the prompt response
considering how many messages they must receive) here it is:
Hello,
We're writing to let you know about an issue with your January AdSense
payment. The full amount of your most recent Electronic Funds Transfer
(EFT) payment was not transmitted all at one time. Therefore, it will
be issued in two EFT transactions. Within the next few days, you'll
receive the first payment, which is the bulk of the amount you're
owed. You may have already received this payment. The remaining amount
will be sent in a separate transaction later this week.
During this time, you may happen to see messaging that your account is
on hold and you'll be prompted to select a new form of payment. Rest
assured this is a normal part of the process and we kindly ask that
you do not make any such changes until both these payments have been
finalized.
Your Payment History page in your AdSense account will show the
following over the next few days:
1) A 'Payment issued' line posted on January 25, 2008 calculated in
USD.
(If you click on the 'details' link next to this line you'll find this
payment was calculated with an exchange rate of 0.981.)
2) An 'EFT not successful - earnings credited back' line has posted
today, January 29, 2008. This doesn't mean that your EFT was
unsuccessful; it's only displayed to balance the amounts within your
AdSense account.
Again, during this time, you may happen to see messaging that your
account is on hold and you'll be prompted to select a new form of
payment. Rest assured this is a normal part of the process and we
kindly ask that you do not make any such changes until both these
payments have been finalized.
3) Then, a 'Payment issued' line will also be posted, for the actual
USD amount of the initial deposit that was sent to your account today,
January 29, 2008. (If you click on the 'details' link for this payment
you'll find this payment was calculated with an exchange rate of
1.030.)
4) Followed by an additional 'Payment issued' line which has posted
today, January 29, 2008 when this additional payment is processed for
the remaining amount that you are due. (If you click on the 'details'
link for this payment you'll find this payment was calculated with an
exchange rate of 1.030.)
The sum of these two last 'Payment issued' lines will reflect the
correct amount of your payment. So soon, your Payment History page
will appear something like the following example:
Jan 25 Payment issued (US
$100.00)
Jan 29 EFT not successful - earnings credited back US $100.00
Jan 29 Payment issued (US
$96.00)
Jan 29 Payment issued (US
$4.00)
Please be assured that the remainder of your payment will be deposited
into your account soon.
Once again, we appreciate your patience as we work to fix the error.
Sincerely,
The Google AdSense Team

Sorry to contact you about a different subject but I am stuck. Do you
know what part of my YouTube page is able to accept the html code
generated by the custom Adsense player? I would REALLY appreciate
some help!
