Subject: Page Impressions!
Hi,
Ok i am really new to the adsense scene, but do know the basics a bit.
Anyway i am really scared of something,The thing is that i am creating
a webpage in Microsoft FrontPage 2003,and i "preview" the page a
lot, just to see how the page looks everytime i make a small change.Plz
keep in mind that the google ad-links are also saved inside the page i
am building....

Now the thing that gave me a shock that i logged into adsense today and
saw 144 page impressions!! :S,the sites not even published on the
net....i think it counted everytime i "previewed" my page in MS office
2003,'cause my net is always ON.

So plz tell me that i am not in trouble,I DID NOT CLICK ON ANY
LINKS!!!! 'Cause i know thats forbidden, but, still am i in trouble bcoz
of page impressions?!

Thanks :(

I don't know about anyone else but I use dummy ads. They are basically
pictures of ads at their respective sizes.

That way, I can see how they'll look without generating any false
impressions and putting the account at risk.  Watch out for a set of
dummy images with our AIP suite.

This is what I find in Google help:

Will viewing my own site create invalid page impressions?

We take the issue of invalid clicks and page impressions very
seriously. As a result, we have a dedicated team of specialists, as
well as automated systems, to flag and review any unusual activity.
Simply viewing your pages yourself will not jeopardize your good
standing in the AdSense program - however, please continue to avoid
clicking on any ads, and don't reload your pages excessively.

No. Invalid meaning if you keep refreshing the pages over and over
again in order to increase your impressions.

sudija,
basically there are 2 types of adsense ads.CPC ads and CPM ads.CPC ads
generates revenue for you when someone clicks on them.CPM ads generates
revenue for you when they are viewed 1000 times.so creating too many
impressins is not allowed.hope this clears things up.

Not completely sure I agree with that.

Google haven't said too many impressions = impressions fraud/invalid
impressions.  They simple state you should avoid refreshing your pages
in an effort to increase your impressions.  We run adsense on a heavy
traffic forum but we still need to manage and keep watch over it.  I
honestly can't see Google banning anyone for actively watching over
their sites.  If I constantly reloaded the same page over and over
again, obviously... they'd say something.  I think thats their
definition of impressions fraud but maybe AdsensePro can shed some
light on this.

To make it more clear.

You are allowed to view your site all you want provided that,
1.you are not clicking any ads.
2.your are not generating queries from your search tab.
3.you are not refereshing your page too often manually or with the use
of robots.
hope this clears the confusion.cheers.

Sorry, I didn't spot this when I posted afterwards.

I have replied to your other thread in Misc section.

I write all the scripts manually, no use of Dreamweaver or other such
programs. Full explanation in the other thread though.

Thanks.
