   Hi,

I am trying to get different reports, but for some dimensions, when I add a filter DOMAIN_NAME==www.myurl.com (using a real URL, of course) I get "The combination of requested dimensions is unavailable".

These dimensions work fine: DATE, MONTH, AD_FORMAT_NAME

   These others fail: AD_UNIT_NAME, AD_UNIT_SIZE_NAME, COUNTRY_NAME, CUSTOM_CHANNEL_NAME

As soon as I remove the DOMAIN_NAME filter, the report works fine.

The idea behind my report is to get info just for a specific URL, as I manage different ones.

Is there a specific reason why those specific dimensions are returning an error?

   Thanks in advance!

Hi Raul,

Thanks for the info. I've been able to reproduce this on my end and will be looking into whether this is expected behaviour or not. I'll keep you posted!

Hi Raul,

I've confirmed that that is indeed expected behaviour. There are some dimensions that cannot be combined, and those combinations don't work even if being used as filters.

I would recommend you use a URL channel instead, but ir probably won't work with all of those either.

Your best option is to reduce the number of dimensions you're using to not include any of the ones that are incompatible with DOMAIN_NAME, and just create an account-wide report for them (hopefully, you don't need that data per site).

Cheers,
Sérgio

Hi Sérgio, thanks for the super-quick update!

To be honest, being able to get different dimensions filtered by url was a killer feature for me; I guess there is a good reason behind this behaviour anyway. Do you think this could change anytime in the future, or should I try to find a permanent workaround for this?

I am developing a WordPress plugin that shows Adsense earnings for that site (and ideally extra info like: top performing ads units, sizes, custom channels...) on backend, so my idea was to extract domain name from WP database and show earnings filtered by that URL, so that no intervention on the user side is needed. If I cannot filter by URL, second best would be to ask the user on WP backend which ads he is showing on the site, and then filter by those specific ads, can you think of any easier way?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi Raul,

At the moment, those four dimensions are incompatible with DOMAIN_NAME across both the API and the AdSense website. You'll still be able to show earnings, clicks and many other things per domain name, though (essentially, you should be able to get reports for any data that you can view on the AdSense website).

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Sérgio
